Preparing for the Ban on Disposable Vapes

Single-use disposable vapes have been banned across the UK since 1 June 2025 — no more grabbing a brightly coloured disposable off the counter and binning it a day or two later. If you've relied on disposables, it's a change worth getting ahead of, and the good news is switching over is a lot simpler than it sounds.

Why disposables are being phased out

The ban is aimed squarely at environmental waste — millions of disposable vapes containing lithium batteries were being thrown away every week across the country rather than recycled, and single-use devices simply aren't designed to be repaired, refilled, or reused. Reusable kits are the intended replacement, and thankfully they've come a long way.

What to switch to instead

The good news: you don't need to give up the convenience of a disposable to comply with the ban. Reusable prefilled pod kits work almost exactly the same way — no coil-building, no complicated settings, just pop a pod in and go — but the device itself is kept and simply refilled with a new pod when the old one runs dry.
