Pop your empty or dead vapes, pods and disposables into a bag — no need to clean or dismantle them.
Bring them in
Hand your old vape over when you pick up a new one — or drop a few spares into our collection point any time.
We recycle them
We pass them to a licensed recycler who recovers the batteries and materials safely.
Why it matters
Almost every vape contains a lithium battery and electronic components. That makes them electrical waste (WEEE) — and lithium batteries are a serious fire risk if they're crushed in a bin lorry or buried in landfill. They also contain valuable materials like copper and lithium that can be recovered and reused.

- Other electricals unrelated to vaping
The law behind it
Since 1 June 2025, single-use disposable vapes have been banned from sale in the UK — but millions are still in circulation and need recycling. Under the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Regulations, any shop that sells vapes must offer customers a free way to return their old ones. Vapes are specifically excluded from the national "Distributor Takeback Scheme", which means every vape retailer — large or small — has to provide in-store take-back. The duty is on a one-for-one, like-for-like basis: when you buy a new vape, we'll take back one used vape of an equivalent type, free of charge — and it doesn't matter where you originally bought it. From 12 August 2026, stricter recycling targets and producer-funding rules come into force.
